Help to bring a new permanent independent film theater to the Upper West Side.
When Lincoln Plaza Cinemas closed on Jan. 28, the Upper West Side of Manhattan mourned a beloved cultural landmark and the neighborhood’s only independent art theater. Now a film-loving group of volunteers has formed a nonprofit organization, New Plaza Cinema, to carry on the tradition of independent cinema on the Upper West Side. New Plaza is seeking a permanent site for a theater. But it needs your help. Please consider contributing your time, money or skills.
As a start-up, we have certain immediate expenses to keep bringing independent films to the neighborhood. But these costs are modest compared to the funds we will ultimately need for the new theater, and we are relying on our members and the public to help. We thank you in advance for your generosity!
NEW PLAZA CINEMA is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of NEW PLAZA CINEMA must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
